When the Danish Men’s Select League season starts in the autumn eight regular season matches will be shown on TV. This was secured when Floorball Denmark signed a TV agreement with the channel SPORT LIVE.
Danish floorball is progressing and more Danes are becoming interested in floorball. Now the floorball fans will also have the opportunity to follow the games from home when the best floorball players in the country play league matches.
– This is a unique opportunity to showcase floorball and is going to give our league product a boost. The collaboration with SPORT LIVE during the World Floorball Championships qualifications in Frederikshavn in January was super good, and I look forward to working together with the clubs to take the sport to a new level, says the Secretary General of Floorball Denmark, Carsten Provstgaard, in their press release.
The regular season matches will be shown over eight Thursday nights during the autumn from various locations in the country. The agreement also includes the final4 Cup in January 2021 and the Danish finals in Helsingør in April 2021.
SPORT LIVE’s director, Flemming Kjellerup, also welcomes the agreement:
– We had a really good collaboration wit Floorball Denmark during the WFC qualification, where the sport was made aware of its potential as a TV sport. It’s a sport of speed and intensity, it’s technical and it’s entertaining. And then there are many goals during the matches. In addition, the event in Frederikshavn showed that there is a passionate and compassionate audience that can create a festive setting, when we hopefully again will be allowed to have spectators for sporting events. We are very much looking forward to developing floorball as a TV sport and giving our viewers a number of LIVE matches during the fall.
