The groups for the 13th IFF Men’s World Floorball Championships, played in Helsinki, Finland, have been decided. The WFC 2020 takes place December 4th -12th and the games will be played in two arenas, Hartwall Arena and the Helsinki Ice Hall.

Hartwall Arena is the main venue, where the semi-finals and medal matches are played. The preliminary rounds and quarter-finals are played in the Helsinki Ice Hall. The WFC 2020 is played with 16 teams, divided into four groups according to their ranking and ballot draw. The group ballot was made today at the Casino Helsinki.

Group A: Finland (1), Sweden (2), Denmark (7), Latvia (8)
Group B: Switzerland (3), Czech Republic (4), Germany (5), Norway (6)
Group C: Slovakia (9), Poland (12), Thailand (14), USA (15)
Group D: Canada (11), Australia (13), Singapore (16), Japan (17)

Playing system

The 16 teams will be divided into four groups. In the group stage each team plays each other once, while the second stage includes play-offs and placement matches. The two best teams of group A and B go directly to the quarter-final. Teams placed 3rd and 4th in group A and B and the teams placed 1st and 2nd in group C and D make it to the first play-off round (played before the quarter-finals).

Ticket sales

Ticket sales for the preliminary round and quarter finals will start on Friday, April 3rd, and tickets for the final weekend are already available here.
