The ballot to decide the groups for the 13th IFF Men’s World Floorball Championships 2020 will take place at Casino Helsinki Fennia in Helsinki, Finland on 10th of March. 

A total of 16 teams will be competing for the World Floorball Championship title in Helsinki, Finland from 4th to 12th of December 2020. The draw to determine the groups for the final round, will take place on Tuesday, 10th of March at 14:30 local time (13:30 CET). The ballot is streamed on IFF YouTube Channel 1.

The qualified teams are divided into four pots according to ranking:

Pot 1 (Ranking 1-4)

Teams: Finland (1), Sweden (2), Switzerland (3), Czech Republic (4)

Pot 2 (Ranking 5-8)

Teams: Germany (5), Norway (6), Denmark (7), Latvia (8)

Pot 3 (Ranking 9-12)

Teams: Slovakia (9), Canada (11), Poland (12), Australia (13)

Pot 4 (Ranking 13-16)

Teams: Thailand (14), USA (15), Singapore (16), Japan (17)

The groups will be determined by an ordered selection from the pots, and will be made up as follows:

Playing system

The 16 teams will be divided to 4 groups. In the group stage each team plays each other once, while the second stage of the event includes play-offs and placement matches. The two best teams of group A and B go directly to the quarter-final. Teams placed 3rd and 4th in group A and B and the teams placed 1st and 2nd in group C and D make it to the first play-off round (played before the quarter-finals).

Final round

The final round with 16 teams takes place in Helsinki, Finland from 4th to 12th of December 2020. The games will be played in two arenas, in Hartwall Arena and in the Helsinki Ice Hall. Hartwall Arena is the main venue, where the semi-finals and medal games are played. The preliminary rounds and quarter-finals are played in the Helsinki Ice Hall.
