The Swiss Cup and League Cup finals were played on Saturday in Bern. Piranha Chur took home the Women’s Swiss Cup title and the Men’s Cup title went to Zug United. Zug United became the first team in the club’s history to win the Cup title. 

Women’s Swiss Cup final

After last year’s disappointment, Piranha Chur won back the Cup title on Saturday. Chur started the match better and were leading 2-0 after Katrin Zwinggi’s two goals. Jets came back to the game on the 44th minute, with Hana Konickova’s equaliser. Chur turned another gear on with 16 minutes left of the match. First Seraina Ulber, then Anja Dellagiovanna, Chiara Gredig all scored once and Chur was three goals ahead. When Zwinggi finished her hat-trick and Dellagiovanna her second goal, it was clear who was going to take home the title. The final score was 7-3 for Piranha Chur.

Men’s Swiss Cup final

3 200 spectators witnessed the men’s final on Saturday evening, when the Cup final rookie Zug United challenged Alligator Malans. In the 5th minute, Emil Julkunen started the scoring for Zug. Kevin Nylund evened the game, first period ending 1-1. Zug kept taking the lead during the match and Malans always equalised. In the 54th minute, Julkunen finished his hat-trick and Zug took a 5-4 lead. But Malans had not given up and just two minutes later, Joshua Schnell evened the final. The game had to be decided in overtime. After five minutes of overtime, Alexander Larsson scored the golden goal and started Zug’s celebrations. Zug United celebrated the first Cup title in the club’s history.

League Cup finals (small-field)

In the Women’s League Cup final, UHT Semsales defended the title from last year. They won the final 5-1 against Blau-Gelb Cazis. The player of the match from Semsales was Nadia Galley-Wicht, who scored a hat-trick.

The Men’s League Cup final was won by Blau-Gelb Cazis for the third time in a row. The final score against UHC Kappelen was 15-11. The player of the match from Cazis’ was Vojtech Regi who scored four goals and assisted one.
