The IFF Event Disciplinary function of the Men’s World Floorball Championships 2020 EUR1 Qualifications have taken the decision to suspend Estonian player, Kaspar Kallion, for one (1) match.

The suspension is in relation to an incident in the match between Estonia and Iceland on Saturday 1st February, where Kallion made contact with an opponent’s head in a manner that was deemed dangerous and reckless.

The suspension is to be served during the WFCQ event, making Kallion ineligible to play in their scheduled match today, Sunday 2nd February, against Poland. No further action will be taken.

The IFF takes matters of player safety very seriously and have taken steps to increase the strictness of referee and disciplinary organ decisions against play that is considered dangerous or violent. The issue of concussion is a very serious one and IFF has recently published our own guidelines on the matter as well as a concussion recognition tool for Floorball.
