Floorball success at Iran Sport Talents Olympiad

Floorball was included on the programme of Iran’s second Sport Talents Olympiad in Tehran taking place August 21st – 26th 2019. The Olympiad talent identification for floorball was organised in order to educate floorball talents and to promote and develop floorball in Iran.

The Olympiad was held August 21st – 26th and there were floorball matches played from August 29th – September 2nd in Sari, the Mazandaran province.

Olympiad results

Attendance of more than 142 persons consisting of athletes, coaches and managers from participated provinces in this important event
10 provinces attended and obtained medal as follows: Khorasan razavi took the first place, Khorasan junubi second place and Mazandaran took the third place. 4^th till 10^th places were taken by these teams: Qom, Kohkiluye va boyerahmad, Tehran, Zanjan, Kurdistan, East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan.
Participation and active attendance of 10 sport boards from all provinces in the country
Identification of 37 talented athletes from 10 provinces
A total of 162 participants

Creating a spirit of joy and hope among all people, healthy lifestyle and recognising sport potential in provincial committees
Striving for empathy and unity among the people
Preparing for floorball upgrading in Iran on different international levels. Aiming for medals and attempting to have a powerful presence in under 19 categories, WFC Qualifications and Asian Cup
Recognising, attracting and breeding sport talents to improve the national team
Creating motivation and committees, providing better facilities, promote the “sport for all” development

Suggestions and solutions:

Organising and continuing floorball talent identification Olympiad for continuity in discovering the best talents
IFF cooperation for more floorball supplies and equipment
To be present in all provinces with emphasis on women’s attendance in sport
Inviting Asian federation presidents to attend floorball talent identification Olympiad
Defining and compiling research priorities in designing the efficient system on planning, implementation and evaluation of the Olympiad, adopting relevant policy with a scientific approach.
