The 13th National Floorball Championships for U17 and U14 boys and girls were organised at Yuva Shakti Model School, Rohini, New Delhi between 30th of September and 2nd of October 2018.

647 players from 7 teams representing 17 states participated in the 4-day event. The Championships were managed by 100 officials and marked the emergence of a number of states which have been working hard the last few years and have been training the youngsters.

The Chief Guest, Mrs. Meena Tyagi, S.D.M. said that she was very impressed with the game and wished all the participants from across the country a successful Championship.

Mr. Atul Gupta, the Ex-President of Indian Floorball Federation highlighted the achievements of the Indian Federation during the last five years. He said that participation in international events should be the priority. Then Mr. Harinder Kumar, President of Indian Floorball Federation, welcomed all the players. He announced that this was the biggest event so far in this category. He said that floorball is developing fast and in the next few years India should work for making its place in the international arena.

The Championships included tough competition and neck to neck fights between various states. For the first time the monopoly of Delhi state was challenged in all the categories. The final results were:

3rd Position: Maharashtra
4th Position: Madhya Pradesh

Girls U17:
Winner: Uttarakhand
Runner-up: Maharashtra
3rd Position: Tamilnadu
4th Position: Bihar

Best Player: Himani, Uttarakhand
Rising Star: Anjali, Himachal Pradesh
Best Defender: Pinky, Uttarakhand
Best Goalkeeper: Kamakshi, Maharashtra

Boys U14:
Winner: Tamilnadu
Runner-up : Delhi
3rd Position: Maharashtra
4th Position: Karnataka

Best Player: Aniketh, Tamilnadu
Rising Star: P.Santosh, Tamilnadu
Best Defender: Vignesh, Tamilnadu
Best Goalkeeper: Akash, Tamilnadu

Girls U14:
Winner: Tamilnadu
Runner-up: Maharashtra
3rd Position: Delhi
4th Position: Madhya Pradesh

Rising Star: Manjula, Tamilnadu
Best Defender: Munishwari, Tamilnadu
Best Goalkeeper: Mageshri, Tamilnadu

After the games, Dr. Pradeep Singh, General Secretary of Indian Floorball Federation, emphasized the quality of play. He also thanked the players and officials from various states for coming all the way to participate in this mega event.

Before closing the event, Sh. Shambhu Dayal Sharma Ji, the chief guest at the closing ceremony and Sh. Atul Gupta awarded the winning teams. Speaking in the event, he said he was proud of the Floorball Fraternity in India. The event ended with a vote of thanks from Mr. Ashok Kumar, the organizing secretary of the 13th National Floorball Championship.
