Nina Rantanen (nee Rantala), has decided to quit floorball. Rantanen told about her decision on Twitter, when her former team Classic had published their new roster for the upcoming season.


Rantanen has had a leading role both in Classic and in the Finnish national team.

Nina Rantanen, 30, is known as the leading player in the Finnish national team and as a top scorer in the Finnish women´s league (Salibandyliiga). She played 13 seasons in the league, representing SBS Rupu for two seasons and Classic for 11. With Classic, she won eight gold medals and three silvers. In total, Rantanen played 269 matches in women´s Salibandyliiga, being the all time number one with 655 points (349+306). She has also dominated the play offs with points 90+117=207. Rantanen has also set several personal records in the women´s league in Finland.

Rantanen has represented Finland in three WFCs in 2013, 2015 and 2017. In total she played 75 national team matches collecting 96 points (44+52).
