Women´s U19 WFC 2018 Team Presentations: A-Division, Group A

A total of 18 teams registered for the 8th Women´s U19 World Floorball Championships.

This is the most ever registrations for this event and was the first time that a qualification had to be held for this event.

Australia, Italy, The Netherlands & New Zealand all registered for the first time in the Women´s U19s.

The Final Round will be played in St. Gallen and Herisau, Switzerland, and is made of up 8 teams in A-division & 8 teams in B-division. All A-division teams, as well as six B-division teams were directly qualified, based on results from the Women´s U19 WFC 2016 and regional quotas. The remaining 2 spots in the B-division were determined via a qualification event in Europe, between Austria, The Netherlands, Italy & Russia.

A-Division Team Presentations:

Group A

Sweden

A team with very high physical status which means that they can play with a high intensity both with and without ball. The aims is to experience flow in every game and win the Championship.

Players to watch

Cornelia Palmer: A stable goalkeeper who loves challenges.
Ellen Bäckstedt: A forward with technique and speed in combination.
Vilde Rundfloen: A defender who always comes out of difficult situations with the ball.

Czech Republic

Team Czech Republic would like to present themselves by active style of playing, spectator-attractive play resulting subsequently in good results. They want to get closer to Scandinavian teams; their great dream, as well as aim, is getting a medal.

Players to watch

Vendula Berankova: Pillar of back lines; she as a defender is able to react perfectly in many situations and, more over, is creative and an excellent shooter.
Barbora Huskova: A shooter of the team. The player has a natural drive towards the net; only minimal space is enough for her to be able to score. Tireless and hard-working.
Lenka Faltusova: No fight or ball is lost for her; she always goes at full speed and is able to control the court. In addition, she has dynamite in her legs.

Team Norway´s aim is to continue to develop as a team both on and off the court.

Germany

The German team is motivated to play a good tournament. The team knows, that they will be fight hard to keep the A-Division.

Anna-Lena Best: Team captain who is not only on the field a Leader. With her great offensive skills, she is a really important player for the team.
Riana Mena König: A strong defender with great skills.
Hanna Petersen: Excellent physical ability and great leader skills.
