Women´s U19 WFC 2018 Team Presentations: A-Division, Group B

A total of 18 teams registered for the 8th Women´s U19 World Floorball Championships.

This is the most ever registrations for this event and was the first time that a qualification had to be held for this event.

Australia, Italy, The Netherlands & New Zealand all registered for the first time in the Women´s U19s.

The Final Round will be played in St. Gallen and Herisau, Switzerland, and is made of up 8 teams in A-division & 8 teams in B-division. All A-division teams, as well as six B-division teams were directly qualified, based on results from the Women´s U19 WFC 2016 and regional quotas. The remaining 2 spots in the B-division were determined via a qualification event in Europe, between Austria, The Netherlands, Italy & Russia.

Finland

Team Finland WU19 is united team where players have been selected by their ability to maintain ball possession and build creative solutions at every corner of floorball field.

Players to watch

Taru Nordman: 2000-born talented player who has dominated National Women´s league already several years.
Milja Saarikoski: 1999 born center and playmaker. One of the smart minds at the Finnish National Series and now helping WU19 team with her bright mind.
Nea Keihäs: Talented 2001 born defender, who has wide range of skills to build game and find innovative solutions to open ups opponents defense lines.

Switzerland

Achieving success through hard work and sound tactical foundation. Depth over all positions is a strength. For a strong tournament in front of a home crowd we give everything and go forward step by step to win a medal.

Players to watch

Andrea Wildermuth: A classic playmaker, capable of finding the better positioned player while being always dangerous herself.
Nicole Capatt: Uses her speed to her advantage to get the position over defenders. Technically sound and skilled shooter.
Ladina Töndury: Stabilizes the team out of the crease. Can take over and save games with her quick reflexes and great positioning.

Poland

Poland will be represented by promising team with both experienced players and debutants. The main goal is to improve last WFC result and play successfully with TOP4 teams.

Players to watch

Zuzanna Krzywak: She is one of the leaders of offensive in senior National Team . Speedy and technically gifted player that has a potential to be the top scorer in any team. Always finds a chance to score.
Joanna Szelzchen: Two years after WFC U19 in Canada still holds the captains badge as a true team player. Great skills in both defence and offensive episodes. Hardworking player that gained highest rates in the team during last WFC in Bratislava.
Patrycja Bernacka: Incredibly talented goalie, with steel mentality and great reaction. Reads the game well. Always ready to support the team on the last post. Still eager to improve and really enjoy playing with the toughest opponents.

Slovakia

Very young physically well prepared team wants to show team performance, effort, combat. The main aim is to give a 100% and to improve their ranking from the last WFC.

Players to watch

Kristina Belicova: Skilful player from Czech league with perfect shot. She wants to score every time.
Adriana Bahnova: Captain and real soul of the team. Small but fast centre, who is fighting for every ball.
Kristina Hlavata: Talented goalkeeper, who participated in the last Women´s WFC.
