In the Swedish top league, SSL the Women’s first semi-final matches will be played this week. In the Men’s, the first semi-final match was already played yesterday.


In the Men’s SSL, the regular season winner Storvreta IBK and the reigning national champions IBF Falun were the first to make their way to the semis with four victories in a row. Storvreta won against Helsingborg and Falun knocked out IBK Dalen. Linköping IBK, who came fourth in the regular season, defeated Växjö IBK four times within five matches. Pixbo Wallenstam IBK won their first match against Mullsjö Ais, but the next three matches were dominated by Mullsjö. The fifth match went into overtime and all the way to the penalty shots where Mullsjö got their fourth needed victory.

Semi-final pairs:
IBF Falun – Linköping IBK
Storvreta IBK – Mullsjö AIS

Falun and Linköping have already played the first semi-final match which was won by Linköping. Storvreta and Mullsjö will begin their fight today. The semi-finals will be played with a best of seven system.

In the Women’s SSL, IKSU were the first to secure their spot in the semi-finals as they outplayed Malmö FBC three times in a row with an impressive +23 goal difference. IKSU were soon followed by the regular season winners KAIS Mora IF and fourth placed Täby FC IBK who also claimed three victories in a row. KAIS Mora won against IK Sirius FBC and Täby won against Endre IF. Pixbo Wallenstam IBK and Västerås Rönnby IBK were the most even quarterfinal pair. Despite of this, there was no need for fifth match as Pixbo claimed their third victory in the fourth match.

Semi-final pairs:
KAIS Mora IF – Täby FC IBK
IKSU – Pixbo Wallenstam IBK

KAIS Mora and Täby will play their first semi-final match on Thursday and IKSU and Pixbo will begin their battle for a place in the Superfinal on Friday. The semis will be played with a best of five system.
