MEN´S WFCQ 2018 - EUR2 - Team Presentations

Sweden, Germany, Slovakia, Slovenia and France are all in the Group EUR2, which will compete in Nitra (Slovakia) on the 31.01 – 4.02.2018.

In Europe, there will be 22 teams competing in four qualification groups with three event locations – Tallinn (Estonia), Nitra (Slovakia) and Valmiera (Latvia).

Each team will play once against each of the other teams in their group. Based on the results from these group matches, a total of 10 teams will qualify according to the following:
– The two best teams from each qualification group will qualify; and
– The the two best 3rd placed teams will qualify.

The calculation of the best 3rd teams will follow this order: 1. Average number of points 2. Average goal difference 3. Average scored goals 4. Lottery drawing*
*Since the number of teams between the qualification groups differs, the group sizes will be equalised by removing the results from the matches against the lowest placed teams in the larger-sized group before comparing the average results.

Team Presentations

Sweden

The Swedish team is a mix of world class players and the coming generation in Sweden. The aim is to qualify for the WFC and to play an offensive and attractive floorball.

Players to watch

Alexander Galante-Carlström: The best goal scorer in the world. He has a feared shot and he is working hard both ways.
Emil Johansson: A future candidate for “the best player in the world” -title. Emil is a complete player.
Johan Samuelsson: The team captain and a class player. He has high demands on himself and the other players in the team. Member of the IFF Athlete´s Commission.

Germany

Germany has a good balanced team with young and some experienced players who will successfully continue the #roadtoprag. It is the first IFF tournament for the new Staff Team. The Germans are expecting tough and exciting games and aim to qualify for the WFC in Prague.

Players to watch

Tino von Pritzbuer: Great skills and good winning attitude. Fast with the ball, amazing moves and shots.
Axel Kuch: Axel is a great two-way player with good sniper skills. He doesn´t need a lot of chances to score a goal.
Mathias Siede: Matze is our engine in the defence. In addition he has a well prepared scorer instinct.

Slovakia

Team Slovakia is a mixture of experienced players and young talents. Slovakia has been part of three world floorball championships in a row and main goal is to take the second place and go to Prague. The players are from Slovak (5), Czech (13), Swiss (1) and Swedish (1) leagues.

Players to watch

Lukas Ujhelyi: A very valuable player with great speed. He is excellent scorer and one timer shooter.
Michal Dudovic: A young and talented player. During a WFC 2016 in Riga he was in top 10 scoring leaders in 6 matches reached 12 points (6+6).
Filip Conka-Skyba: He is one of the many players from the Czech league. He is unpredictable player with great agility and incredible dribbling.

Slovenia

Slovenian National team is a mix of few experienced players and group of young players. Their aim is to achieve second or third place in our qualification group and qualify to WFC 2018.

Players to watch

Luka Časar: He plays floorball in Czech Republic and he is the team captain and most experienced player in the team.
Robert Kosir: A young player who also plays floorball in Czech Republic. He is a player with great technique and skills.
Luka Peklaj: The youngest player in the team with good technique. He is representative of the new wave of Slovenian players.

France

The French national team is a blend of young talented players and experienced ones aiming to get the best result by every single qualification game in order to get a ticket to the World Championships in the Czech Republic.

Players to watch

Manaüre Russo-Mendoza: The oldest player and the legendary captain of the Team France.
Jérôme Andermatt: The pillar of the defence pack and the most experienced player in the team.
Tobias Weber: The young and talented player who used to play in the best Swiss league.
