During the Men´s WFC 2016, the players from all of the participating teams will have the chance to vote for the male representatives on the IFF Athletes´ Commission. The IFF has received 8 male nominations: Shaun Frazer (AUS), Tomas Sladky (CZE), Tero Tiitu (FIN), Junoh Lee (KOR), Ole Mossin Olesen (NOR), Johan Samuelson (SWE), Manuel Engel (SUI) & Manaure Russo-Mendoza (FRA).
Four male representatives will be elected to the IFF Athletes Commission (ATC) for the next four year period and the results will be announced in February 2017 after the elections for the female candidates, which will be held during the Women´s WFC Qualifications.
Here we meet Tero Tiitu of Finland and Manaüre Russo-Mendoza from France.
Manaüre Russo-Mendoza, France
Age: 35 yrs Current Club: Trolls Annecy (FRA) WFC/Q´s: 6 (2004-2016)
Manaüre has been captain of the French team since 2011. He has been involved in Floorball in France since its very early days and has won 3 French national titles. He starting playing ice hockey at 5 yrs and played in the French Junior Elite league. He is of Venezuelan origin and is keen to help develop Floorball in South America.
“In my role as captain, I have a lot of times provided a voice for my teammates towards the head-coach and the team managers. As a member of the ATC, I would enjoy to take it to the next level and give a voice for small countries in Floorball.”
Tero Tiitu, Finland
Age: 34 yrs Current Club: EräViikingit Helsinki (FIN) WFC´s: 8 (2002-2016)
Tero has been a member of the ATC since 2014 and is hoping to be re-elected. He has an impressive playing record with two WFC golds, six Finnish national titles and one Swedish championship. He is the all-time leading international goal scorer for Finland. He has almost completed two Master´s degrees and appears regularly on a Finnish TV sports show.
“I want to make the players’ voice even better heard in the IFF, contribute to developing the sport also outside the rinks as well as further help the sport to reach the Olympic games.“
