This year’s Prague Masters will start tomorrow with a record number of teams.

The 11th Prague Masters will be played in Prague, Czech Republic 10th-12th of November. Record-breaking 73 teams from 9 countries will take part in the international tournament for veteran floorball players. The teams come from Czech Republic, Finland, Latvia, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland. During the tournament spectators can see former, and in some cases, present floorball stars.

The tournament will be played in three different sport arenas within three days and has three different categories. The categories are Women 30+, Men 35+ and Men 40+. All finals will be played on Saturday afternoon. Last year the winners were two Czech teams Brnenske Bohyne (Women 30+), FKU Ovocne Baze (Men 35+) and the Swiss team Wiler-Ersigen Tigers (Men 40+). The organisers reckon that this year’s tournament will be even:

-It is hard to guess who will appear in the finals, because all categories are so balanced. Between women‘s teams there are four medal teams from the previous year. In the Men 35+ category the bronze team from last year FBI Přírodní vany, Czech team Hlásná, four teams from Finland and two teams from Sweden will be present.  In the Men 40+ champions of the unofficial Czech veteran league P.CA Milada, six Norwegian teams and Dutch players from Amsterdam FB Agents will compete against each other. However, probably the overwhelming favourite is Swedish team IBK Lockerud Veterans. Spectators could find there few former members of the Swedish national team or current head coach of Sweden’s Men’s national team Jan-Erik Vaara, says one of the organisers Mariia Zimina.
