Floorball L’Aquila were the favourite in the Italian final, but the multi-champions FBC Bozen showed their strength by winning the title.


The reigning champions Floorball L’Aquila faced FBC Bozen in the Men´s final in Italy. Floorball L’Aquila were the favourite due to their strong regular season. They also made their way into the finals rather easily whereas FBC Bozen had some trouble with their semi-final pair. L’Aquila had the advantage due to their home audience when 150 fans had come to support the home team. But FBC Bozen was determined to regain their title. Last season they lost in the final on overtime.

When only three minutes was played, the away team FBC Bozen scored their first goal. Due to their good tactics, Bozen scored again and lead the match 2-0 after the first period. L’Aquila were able to score their first goal in the second period. Bozen didn’t give them a lot of time to celebrate and scored right after. The away team was leading the match 3-1 after 40 minutes.

At the start of the third period L’Aquila’s Arnaldo Fischione decreased the score to 3-2 and one minute later, L’Aquila’s Alessandro Agrusti evened the score on power play. L’Aquila had finally found their rhythm and took the lead at 48:34. With five minutes left, Bozen showed their strength when they evened the score on power play and only a few minutes later Hannes Unterhofer scored the winning goal for Bozen. Bozen won the match 5-4 and the title for the fifth time.
