Tatran Střešovice defeated the reigning Czech champion, 1 SC WOOW Vitkovice, in the 5th Final with 6-3 and are crowned the Champions after winning the extremely tight Final series with 3-2 in matches. In the Women´s league Tigers SJM had an easier path to become Champions when they confirmed the gold medals with three straight victories against FBS Bohemians.
Tatran Stresovice took back the championship gold
The decisive men´s final began where the previous ended. Vitkovice in trouble in their own zone and Střešovice shooting goals. Tomas Vavra scored the first goal for Tatran Střešovice in 1.21 and only 30 seconds later Dušan Přívara increased the lead. After Johan Von der Pahlen´s, Michal Jedlička´s and Milan Fridrich´s goals the score was already 5-0 after the first period.
No goals were seen in the second period and although Vitkovice won the third period 3-1 they were not able to challenge the Střešovice team that could take the trophy back in 2010. Before last year´s final loss against Vitkovice Tatran had dominated the Czech league and now they were able to take back the first position.
Milan Fridrich with 2+0 was awarded as Tatran´s best player and Johan Von der Pahlen was the top scorer in the 5th Final with 1+2.
Tigers SJM Women´s Champions
The decisive Women´s Final was played on Saturday. Tigers SJM had won two previous matches and had the chance to confirm the championship. In the decive match the first two periods were even, the score was 1-1 in the beginning of the third period.
In the last period Tigers showed their strenght by scoring three goals in four minutes. This was enough for Bohemians and the championship was settled. The final score of the third final 5-2 and the most effective players for Tigers were Dominica Steglova (2+0) and Anet Jarolimova (1+1). The Tigers won their 1st Championship with their current name, but they also had three previous victories with the club name Dekanka.
Direct spots to the EFC Final Round for Tatran and Tigers
With the championships Tatran Stresovice and Tigers SJM also confirmed their spot in the EFC 2010 Final Round, which will be played in Valmiera, Latvia on October 2010. FBS Bohemians and 1. SC Vitkovice will also have a chance to qualify to the EFC Final Round from EFC Qualifications, which will be played in August.
