The reigning champions fulfilled the expectations and took the spot in the WFC Final. The game was quite even in the start of the 1st period, but Sweden took more and more command of the match and could crush the Finns with 10-2

The architect behind the first goal was the Swedish goalkeeper Hanna Pettersson. First Finland had a good chance to score, but Pettersson saved the shot and then  gave a long opening pass  to Malin Dalbjer who scored tunnel goal with one hand, assist to Pettersson.

Sweden scored two goals in the second period Widar scoring already her second of the match.

Finland were in big trouble when the Swedish forwards were pressuring high and many of the opening passes were blocked by the Swedes. Finland was not able to raise their level of play during the match and Sweden could take an easy victory.

Hermine Dahlerus  scored two of Sweden´s three goals in the third period and increased the lead already to 8-1, the latter during power play. As the Finnish goalie, Jonna Mäkelä, did not have her best day either the final score was 10-2 to Sweden.

Widar and Jenni Morottaja were elected as best players.

The WFC Final, Switzerland – Sweden, will be played at 15.00 CET and the Bronze match, Czech Republic – Finland will start at 12:00 CET tomorrow.

The Swedish head coach, Jan-Erik Vaara, gives credit to his teams working moral in innebandy.se´s interview
– The game was even in the first period and Hanna Pettersson was very good in the goal. That we work so hard and help each other is esstential, says Vaara who looks forward to the Final against Switzerland tomorrow.

– We could not challenge the better team, the Finnish coach Jari Oksanen admitted in Salibandyliiga´s interview.
– Our spirit when coming here was good and we wanted to challenge Sweden, but our belief in ourselves was not strong enough against the much better team. There were a few set-backs in the start and the third goal for Sweden, after our reduce, came in a bad moment for us, but when we lost this much this can not be seen as the turning point.
