A B-division victory in the WFC 2009 guarantees a spot in the World Championships in 2011 without qualification, which makes the battle for the 1st place very interesting.

Singapore – Singapore was relegated to the B-division after losing to USA with one goal in the match for 9th place in 2007, but are determined to win the B-division and be automatically qualified for the WFC in 2011.

The Singaporean team consists of young and energetic players with a lot of fighting spirit and winning mentality.

A star player from the Singaporean team is Jill Quek (pictured) who has played in both the Finnish league and in the first division team in Sweden. Quek is a very skilful and quick player, who is always aiming to score and will be a dangerous weapon in the Singaporean offense.

Germany – The German team is a mix of experience and young players, who have played in the Under 19 World Championships.

Sandra Dirksen (pictured) is one of the top scorers of the German team. She played in the Women´s World Championships already in 2003 and was the best scorer in the German team in 2007 with 4+5.

Dirksen currently plays in one of the best leagues as she represents the Swiss top team Red Ants Rychenberg Winterthur.

Nancy Gatzsch, who was elected as the All Star goalie in the Under 19 Women´s WFC in 2008 will protect the German goal also in the Adult World Championships.

Hungary has been building up their young team for the past two years and are also aiming to reach a good placement in the upcoming WFC.

One of the talents in the Hungarian team is Szilvia Sári, (pictured) who is a solid and experienced and very talented goalkeeper. Sári plays in Nykvarns IF in Sweden and will be a very important player in the Hungarian team´s defence.

Netherlands play in the group B and is intending to challenge the group favourites Singapore.

The Dutch team has not won any matches in the previous international tournaments in 2009, but have played some very tight matches against Hungary and Germany, losing with only one goal to both and only after penalty shots against Germany in the Polish Open in September.

One forward who has played solidly in the 2009 internationals is Iris Stokman (pictured) who will play in her 2nd WFC.

Australia will have many new players in their roster, but will challenge the B-division favourites with an equal team.

One of the players to be noted is the forward Jessica Laidler (pictured) who plays for the top Finnish League team, PSS Porvoo. She also played in the WFC 2007 where she scored five goals in five matches.
