The last decisive matches of the Italian championship for men were played this weekend. Like last year the title was assigned only in the very last weekend. SSV Diamante Bozen managed to win their last match, thereby winning for the fourth time the Italian championship.

The reigning champions, FBC Bozen, also won their last match but had to settle with arriving second. The title was well deserved and also something that SSV Diamante was longing for after three years in a row as runner-up. In particular it should be remembered that last year they did not win the title due to a goal that was let in with only 3 seconds left of the last match.

SSV Bozen also Women´s Champions

The regular season 2008/09 in Italy is thereby concluded, since the winners of the other national titles have already been assigned earlier during the season. SSV Bozen actually also won the female category, while the U19 title was won by FC Fanatics Gargazon. FBC Bozen instead managed to defend their title as champions on small field.
