The Finnish Floorball Federation (FFF) received the recognition by the Finnish Olympic Committee on April 28th.

The Finnish Floorball Federation´s recognition is a result of a long process and the finally the recognition became possible when the IFF received the IOC recognition in December 2008.

The Finnish Floorball Federation is the 56th sport in Finland to receive membership in the Finnish Olympic Committee.

– This is an important milestone and step forward for a young sport, says Mr. Matti Ahde, President of FFF.

The membership in the National Olympic Committee strengthens Floorball´s status and identity as an important sport in Finland and is also a recognition of the sports fast growth to become one of the most popular sports in the country.

– Especially from the top Floorball perspective, the recognition is very important. Floorball now has the chance to be included in the Finnish Olympic Committee´s educational support system and to receive a representative into the Finnish Olympic Committee´s commission, Mr. Ahde emphasises.
