SSK Vitkovice is the new Champion of the Czech Floorball League – Fortuna Extraliga. Tatran Stresovice has been the Champion several times before including last year, when these two teams met in the Finals.

After a thrilling Final serie SSK Vitkovice turned the last and desicive match to their advantage with the result 5-4.

After the first period SSK Vitkovice was leading the match with result 2-0. In the end of the first period SSK Vitkovice got a 2 minutes penalty. Tatran started the second period with power play. However Tatran couldn´t utilize this power play, but managed to score only one minute after the penalty. Soon after that they tied the match to 2-2.

Martin Vladar took SSK Vitkovice into a 3-2 lead when half of the match was played and soon Lukas Hruby followed his team mate´s example and scored SSK Vitkovice into 4-2 lead. Only one minute after 4-2 goal Tatran´s Martin Richter scored and the final numbers of the second period were 4-3 for SSK Vitkovice.

In the last period Tatran succeeded to tie the match on power play to an exciting 4-4 situation. In the middle of the third period Daniel Folta took Vitkovice into a 5-4 lead and that score they were able to maintain until the end of the match. Therefore the extremely tight final series ended with 3-2 victories to SSK Vitkovice and they won the gold.

With the championship victory SSK Vitkovice also secured their place in the EuroFloorball Cup Final Round. The EFC Final Round will be played on October 2009 in Denmark. Also Tatran Stresovice will have a chance to qualify to the EFC Final Round from the EFC Qualification for 2nd best teams from Top 4 Nations.
