London Sharks won the South East League in Great Britain and were crowned for the S.E. Champions of the season 2008/2009. This was the first year the team played in the league.
The decisive match for the South East League was between London Sharks and East Kent Warriors, which London Sharks won 14-2. As Brighton Rock beat London Crusaders, the strongest challenger of Sharks, the lead of London Sharks was unreachable.
There were four leagues in Great Britain this season:
South East League, Champion: London Sharks
South West League, Champion: Warwick University 1
Central League, Champion: London Vikings
Northern League, Champion: Aberdeen Oilers
London Sharks will challenge the best teams of the other four leagues in Edinburgh on 2nd – 3rd May. There the best 12 teams from all over Britain will compete for the National Championships. For the past three years London Vikings have dominated the British Championships by winning the title for three years in a row.
