The IFF received the information from the World Anti-doping Agency (WADA) during the IFF and WADA meeting held in Denver during the GAISF Sport Accord March 25th that the IFF´s Anti-doping work is in full compliance with the WADA´s Code.

The WADA still stressed the importance of continuous increase in the amount of Out of Competition (OOC) tests to be conducted within Floorball.

Sports must undertake three steps in order to be fully compliant with the Code: acceptance, implementation, and enforcement. Code acceptance means that a sports organisation agrees to the principles of the Code and agrees to implement and comply with the Code. Once a sports organisation accepts the Code, it then needs to implement it. Code implementation means that a sports organisation amends its rules and policies to include the mandatory articles and principles of the Code. Finally, enforcement means that a sports organisation is enforcing its amended rules and policies in accordance with the Code.

Record amount of Doping Tests conducted in Floorball

The number of doping tests conducted in Floorball increased in 2008 both in the IFF events and within the IFF Member Associations and according to the statistics collected by the IFF there were a total of 654 doping tests conducted in Floorball in 2008.

In 2008 there were 92 tests conducted in the IFF events (Men´s WFC, Women´s U19 WFC, EFC 2007-2007, EFC 2008 and the WUC 2008) compared to 44 tests in 2007 (the changes in the competition calender resulting in two EFC Final rounds in 2008 increased the amount of tests somewhat).

The IFF Member Associations also annually report the national level doping control activities to the IFF. All in all there were 211 in competition tests and 341 out of competition tests carried out in the floorball nations. In 2007 the numbers were 242 (in competition) and 322 (out of competition), which indicates that more resources are put into out of competition testing also in the National Associations.

The biggest number of tests is conducted in the following countries:

Country In competition tests Out of competition tests
Sweden 68 (2007: 61) 202 (2007: 187)
Finland 38 (48) 47 (44)
Germany 13 (16) 53 (24)
Norway 27 (18) 21 (9)
Switzerland 30 (24) 8 (0)
Czech Republic 15 (16) 4 (0)
Japan 18 (0) 0 (0)
