The Australian Floorball Associaiton (AFA) has announced that AFA received the official recognition from the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) as the National Sporting Organisation for Floorball in Australia.

The ASC recognition means that Floorball in Australia has access to the resources of ASC including information resources, coaching and administration programmes, use of the ASC logo and funding for the sport. This is the beginning of a new era for Floorball in Australia and over the next few weeks further details will be obtained as to what this means to the Floorball community in Australia.

The AFA also hosted the Asia Pacific Floorball Championship 2008 (APAC 2008) in the end of August with great success. The IFF congratulates the AFA for achieving the official recognition and wishes the Australian Association good luck in developing the Floorball community in Australia.
