The Swiss player, the 28 year old Simone Berner, has been elected the best Floorball player in the world for 2008 by the Swedish Floorball Magazine Innebandymagazinet. The election was made by national team coaches and media representatives from all over the world.

Simone Berner led her club team, UHC Dietlikon, to three victories in 2008 and Dietlikon is now the reigning EFC Champion as well as Swiss Champion and Cup winner. The Swiss defender has played for Dietlikon since 1998 and was 7th in the scoring leader list for 2007-2008 with a total of 29 points (26+13).
