A new coaching manual for Floorball is now available on the IFF web-page. IFF has as a part of its Development programme published the first part of three English coaching manuals; Teaching Individual techniques and tactics in Floorball. The second part; Team Tactics will be published during autumn and the third part; Special Situations will be published In the spring of 2008.

The material has been edited by Ms. Anniina Paavilainen, who is a student of the Degree Programme of Sports and Leisure Management at the Finnish Sports institute, which is supported by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Ms. Paavilainen has worked at IFF since September 2006 as a trainee, concentrating on development and educational issues.

The Coaching Material is built in three different levels based on the development of the players, which helps the coach to plan practices in the most efficient way for players of all skills.

The manual is aimed for coaches at all levels and consists of instructions both, how to teach individual skills in addition to teaching tactical knowledge as well as exercise examples. All the basic individual technical skills are included such as shooting, passing and dribbling. When teaching individual tactical skills the primary emphasis is on the different game situation roles and the creation of  a game like environment where all the technical skills are present.

The material is free to be used by all Floorball players and can be downloaded from here.
