Madam Xiao Min meeting with President of the International Floorball Federation

On April 24, Madam Xiao Min, Assistant Minister of General Administration of Sport of China met Mr. Tomas Eriksson, IFF President, Mr. Renato Orlando, IFF Vice President and Mr. John Liljelund, IFF Secretary General.

First of all, Madam Xiao Min expressed her thanks to IFF for their warm hospitality during her visit to the World Floorball Championships in Sweden. She said that floorball is an interesting, competitive and appreciative sport. It can foster the teamwork spirit and will not bring injury very often. Its training is comprehensive and suitable for the youth. The popularization of floorball in China will promote youth sports activities and further carry out sport-for-all program. Madam Xiao Min also said we should learn from IFF on the way of promoting the World Floorball Championships

Mr. Tomas Eriksson said that the IFF was founded in 1986 having now nearly 40 members. At present stage, IFF is aiming to promote the sport to more countries and hope to be recognized by IOC as soon as possible. IFF is willing to help China to develop the sport by training coaches in China and wish China will send teams to the future world championships.

Madam Xiao Min said the China Leisure Sports Administrative Center and other relevant departments will make practical plan and try to promote the sport in China.
