In January 2007 the amount of licensed Floorball players in Finland for the first time passed the boundary mark of 40,000. The exact number in the end of January was 40,194 licensed players.

There has been a 4-6 % growth in the amount of licensed players during the recent years in Finland and the amount of licensed players have increased in all seasons but one during the history of the sport.

Floorball is also very popular as a recreational sport in Finland. According to the latest national sports research 354 000 Finns spend their time with Floorball and Floorball is the most popular team ball game amongst adults and the second most popular team ball game amongst under 18-year olds.
