After only three minutes it was already 1-1 in the match between Russia and Slovakia. Both teams continued to have many scoring opportunities in the first half of the first period as the game was going fast from one end of the field to the other.

Then Russia started to take more control of the match and scored the next three goals and after two periods the match was already 6-3 to Russia. In the third period there was a lot of scoring opportunities in both ends, but this time the ball bounced in favour of the goalkeepers.

With only five minutes remaining of the match the Russian team’s best player Maria Kitaeva scored the final goal of the match and Russia won 7-3. Russia then came 9th and Slovakia 10th in these championships.
