In the first match of today Russia defeated Hungary 6-0. Hungary-Russia

Hungary also had their chances to score and had 24 shots on goal, but the Hungarians were not able to put the ball into the net. The Russian team will continue their tournament tomorrow when they will play for the 9th place against Slovakia.

Sweden-LatviaSweden won against Latvia 10-1. Although the Latvians lost, they still secured (because of a better goal difference than Russia) that they do not risk to be relegated from the A Division 2008. Instead Latvia will play for the seventh place on Sunday against Germany.

Slovakia-SwitzerlandSlovakia played against Switzerland, in a match that the Swiss team won 12-0. This match did not change the standings in the group B, so Switzerland plays in the semis against Sweden and Slovakia against Russia for the 9th place.

Germany-NorwayIn the last match of the evening Norway played against Germany. This match gathered a full house in the Parthelandhalle in Naunhof and the German spectators were cheering loudly for their team. For the crowds disappointment it was Norway that started strong and scored three goals in the first period. The shots on goal were 13-13, but the Norwegian team´s shots were of higher class and they could get into a 3-0 lead. The second and third period continued to be tight, with the teams scoring one goal each. This was enough for Norway that won the match 4-1 and will play for the fifth place on Sunday against Poland.
