Latvia

Describe your team, and what should we expect from your team during WFC 2022?

Our expectations are high as alway – we have played well in the last couple tournaments and had great results, but we cannot take anything for granted and have unnecesarry pressure. Everybody is taking us really seriously after breaking into the world’s top4, so we have to play our best games and stick to our goals while avoiding pressure on the team. The WFCQ, TWG, 6NT have been our field of practise besides camps and now, reaching our biggest goal/event – WFC – we have to show what we have achieved. And we are ready for sure.

Describe your team, and what should we expect from your team during WFC 2022?

The WFC in Helsinki was our first step developing a new playing identy for the men’s national team. Place 9 was not giving satisfaction to us, but we could develop our game over the recent year and look forward to Switzerland. Our first goal is to reach the quarter-final. After reaching that goal we will see what is possible.
