As the IFF celebrated its 35th anniversary this year the IFF will introduce the IFF Hall of Fame (HoF) which celebrates an exceptional international career of individuals who can be players, coaches or referees.
A person can be inaugurated in the IFF Hall of Fame if they have been very successful in their international playing/coaching/refereeing career, advanced and promoted the development and awareness of floorball in an exceptional way or is otherwise highly merited among the sport of floorball. The actual Hall of Fame will be on the IFF website.
— Since the IFF has reached the mature age of 35 years we also need to look back at the glorious international careers both on the field of play and behind the benches. The time seemed right to establish a Hall of Fame to celebrate and document these achievements. What better way for the introduction as during the exceptional year of having the back to back adult World Floorball Championships, Mr John Liljelund, IFF Secretary General explains.
A player, coach or referee can be nominated for Hall of Fame- candidature three (3) years after retiring from their active career. The only exception in this rule is for the introduction year of the HoF in 2021 when only retirement from active career is considered sufficient, without the three-year minimum.
The IFF Hall of Fame Selection Committee has the possibility to choose players based on nomination submissions which have be submitted by the annual deadline. National federations have the right to nominate HoF-candidates. More about the Selection Committee on the IFF website.
IFF Hall of Fame nominations
The Committee will get the nominations received from NFs and prepared by the IFF Office. Nominations must be submitted by the 30th of August. Decisions about inaugurations will be made by end September/early October. The Selection Committee will decide the induction of the nominees by a majority vote.
For the initial introduction year (2021) of IFF Hall of Fame national federations are expected to nominate candidates for each gender from three different eras: 1990-1999 / 2000-2009 / 2010-2021. After the launch year nominations will be considered every five years.

Awarding ceremony
Based on the decision of the Selection Committee the Hall of Famers will officially be inaugurated in connection with the adult WFC’s. The ceremony will take place during an intermission on the final day of the tournament. The selected person will receive a speech, tribute video (30-60 seconds) and a IFF Hall of Fame award.
