The Swiss Cup 2020 finals are played on Saturday 22nd of February at Sporthalle Wankdorf in Bern. In total four finals are played on Saturday: Women’s and Men’s League Cup finals (small field) and Women’s and Men’s Swiss Cup finals. Women’s Swiss Cup
Piranha Chur and Kloten-Dietlikon Jets will once again meet each other in the Swiss Cup final. This time, Jets are the reigning Cup and Swiss Champions. Last year the Jets took a 4-2 win against Chur in the Swiss Cup final. But in the beginning of this season in the Swiss Super Cup, Piranha Chur won against the Jets with clear numbers, 7-1. Both teams have extremely experienced international players. Flurina Marti (Piranha Chur) is the captain of the Swiss national team and was elected as 9th best female player in the world by Innebandymagazinet. Isabelle Gerig (Kloten-Dietlikon Jets) is one of the youngest players in her team, but for example in Neuchâtel, she showed her skills contributing to the team’s silver medal.
Men’s Swiss Cup
It’s the first time for Zug United to play in the Cup final. On Saturday, they will face the UHC Alligator Malans. The Cup final is expected to be tight, since Malans is currently holding the 4th place in NLA and Zug the 5th. Last time the teams met on the 5th of January, when Zug took a 6-5 overtime win. Andreas Dahlqvist (Zug United) and Oscar Eriksson-Elfsberg (UHC Alligator Malans) are the top scorers of their teams and the players to be followed in the final.
Women’s and Men’s League Cup
The League Cup is played in the small field, with 3vs3 playing system. In the Women’ final, UHT Semsales is defending its Cup title from last year. In last year’s final they took a 9-4 win against UHCevi Gossau. Blau-Gelb Cazis is the reigning League Cup champions in the Men’s. In the last year’s final they beat UHC Nuglar United 9-8.
