Estonian Champions 2019 are EMÜ SK and TalTech

In the women’s final Eesti Maaülikooli SK (EMÜ SK) defeated SK LINK/Saku and in the men’s final TalTech won the deciding fifth game against Sparta Team Automaailm.

Women’s final and bronze match

The winner of the ladies championships was ascertained in one match held on 14th of April. EMÜ SK had won the regular season and overpowered their semi-final opponent 3-0 in best out of five series. In an even final match EMÜ SK won 5-3 with their top-scorer Edith Pärnik being extra effective scoring 4 goals. Pärnik was also the top scorer of the season (17+5).

The women’s bronze match was then different from the final. Sparta dominated the game against Kaitseliidu Rapla malev from the start. Final score 7-0 for Sparta.

Men’s final and bronze match

The final series between Sparta Team Automaailm and TalTech was the most even one in the Estonian floorball history. The reigning champion Sparta Team Automaailm was already leading the series 2-1, but TalTech was able to even the final series 2-2. The winner was only decided in the fifth game, which was played on Thursday 18th of April. In this game TalTech was stronger 7-4. The key players of the match were TalTech’s Ken Pähn (3+0) and Tanel Kasenurm (1+2).

Eesti Maaülikooli SK confronted Jõgeva SK Tähe/Olivia in the bronze match. The game stayed tight until the end, but Eesti Maaülikooli SK was stronger and took home the bronze. Final score 7-5 for Eesti Maaülikooli SK.
