The two best teams of group A and B go directly to the quarter-final. Teams placed 3rd and 4th in group A and B and the teams placed 1st and 2nd in group C and D make it to the first playoff round (played before the quarter-finals). This gives more even and important matches in the group stage and four additional teams the opportunity to play in the play-offs.
WFC Qualification system
All teams apart from the organiser should qualify for the adult WFC. This system was installed from the Men´s World Floorball Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden, 2014.
The WFC Quota system decides how many teams from each region will qualify, and is based on the total number of teams registered for the event. This system gives a preliminary quota that can be adjusted as necessary. Additionally, countries from new continents shall have to qualify and not be given a direct spot in the Final round.
