3v3 WFC - IFF

The newest format of international Floorball was introduced in 2024 with the first edition of the IFF 3v3 World Floorball Championships in Lahti, Finland. It is played annually with both a men’s & women’s tournament played in one location, with multiple courts. For the first two events it was played in conjunction with the U19 WFC over 2 days, but starting in 2026 it became a stand-alone event played over 3 days.

The 3v3 format is played with 3 field players and a goalkeeper on a reduced size court (22m x 11m) in 2 x 10minute periods. Teams are limited to 10 players. The format includes several different rules to traditional Floorball, with features such as the goalkeeper returning the ball immediately to play when the ball goes out of the court, free-hits from set positions on the court, and modified penalty shots.
