The 12th edition of The World Games took place from 7th to 17th August 2025. The host city was the mega-city Chengdu in the People’s Republic of China. For the third time in the history of The World Games since 1981, the multi-sport event was a guest in Asia.
34 sports, 60 disciplines and 256 medal events were on The World Games 2025 programme. Floorball was an official medal sport for the third consecutive edition of TWG, with 8 women’s teams participating for the first time, along with 8 men’s teams.
Tournament
The Floorball competition was held from 6th – 13th August. The teams were split into two groups in each gender, playing group games, followed by semi-finals, placement and medal matches. Teams were allowed a maximum of 14 players and up to 4 officials. Game time was 3 x 15 minutes and only in the play-off stages was there be extra time and penalty shots, if required.

Qualification
China, as the host country, was the only directly qualified team. The rest of the participating teams were decided according to results from the Men’s WFC 2024 and Women’s WFC 2023, as well as some regional events. The women’s Asia Oceania teams (Singapore & Thailand) were decided from the Women’s WFC AOFC Qualifications 2023, and the Women’s American qualifier (Canada) was decided by a special TWG qualification event in 2024.
