It is now confirmed that Austria will take part in the upcoming Women’s U19 World Floorball Championships 2022 in Katowice, Poland and will be in Group D alongside Australia, Latvia and Denmark. This spot was previously allocated to Singapore who withdrew from the tournament last week.
Austria had the opportunity to replace Singapore because they are next in the ranking.
Austria have previously best achieved 12th position in the Women’s U19 WFC at the B division of the U19 tournament in 2018. They are currently ranked 11th in the Women’s U19 World rankings and were the highest ranked eligible nation in the rankings system able to take the free spot left by Singapore. The IFF and U19 WFC 2022 organsiing committee welcomes Austria and thanks the Austrian Floorball Federation for organising and confirming their participation at such short notice. Both the IFF and U19 WFC 2022 local organising committee are looking forward to seeing a full 16 team tournament now take place in Katowice, Poland starting at the end of August!
