The last semifinal featured Swiss team of Wiler-Ersigen against Classic of Finland. For most of the matchtime the fans so a tight game, which turned into an interesting shoot-out in the last twenty minutes. And in the end, the Swiss players were on the better and more productive side and will challenge Storvreta in the final.

 

Wiler entered the match like a wind and scored from their first interesting opportunity. Marco Lars Rentsch waited for a final pass and sent the ball into the open Toriseva’s net. Especially in the first period the game was tight on both sides, but the fans didn’t see many scoring chances. For these they have to wait until after the break. In the second period, the Slovak national team player, Michal Dudovič, in Wiler’s colours doubled the lead. Halfway through the match the Finns managed to reduce the score, which positively influenced their game.

Despite the Swiss champions were up by three goals, their opponents didn’t give up and fought until the very end. The third period saw a real shoot-out with a total of eleven goals. Both sides fought for every ball and took turns in converting their opportunities. With six minutes left in regulation the Finnish team leveled the score at 7-7 and suddenly the match started from scratch. An important moment came a minute later when both teams played with four players. The Swiss team took advantage of this situation and once again went into the lead.

This goal remained unanswered by the Classic players, who then conceded two empty-netters in the final minute. In Sunday’s final Wiler-Ersigen will face the Swedes from Storvreta, while Classic will fight against the home team of Vítkovice.
