In co-operation with UNIHOC, the IFF has decided that the official IFF match ball at the Women’s World Floorball Championships 2019 will be UNIHOC’s white DYNAMIC ball. The UNIHOC DYNAMIC “hot orange” match ball has been evaluated in recent events and the IFF has come to the conclusion that it is not optimal for streaming.

– During the EuroFloorball Cup 2019, the IFF continued to evaluate the UNIHOC DYNAMIC “hot orange” ball colour and had the possibility to compare it with the white ball. As the players wanted to play the official EFC games with the “hot orange” ball, the EFC Jury decided to complete the ball comparison testing during warm-ups, but with the same streaming set-up. The EFC 2019 ball testing showed that the orange ball is not optimal for viewing in streaming. Therefore, the IFF has made the decision that the WFC 2019 in Neuchatel will be played with the white DYNAMIC ball, IFF Secretary General John Liljelund, informs.

Ball testing continues during and after the Women’s World Floorball Championships 2019:

– The hot orange colour was accepted by players testing it live and approved by TV partners, but unfortunately it is not the best colour for streaming game action. Currently the white ball is the best option from the UNIHOC DYNAMIC collection, so we will play with that now. The IFF will however, in cooperation with UNIHOC, continue testing with different colours and set-ups to find the best possible official match ball. We will try to take all possible aspects into account and aim to play the IFF Events with the best possible ball, also taking into consideration the different venues and streaming production set-ups, Mr. Liljelund concludes.

The WFC 2019 will be the first official IFF Event that is played with a white ball since the Men’s U19 World Floorball Championships 2011 played in Weissenfels, Germany.
