2019 Champions Cup. Final against the Finnish Classic. And a 3-10 loss in the end. The Swedish team Storvreta brought silver medals home from last year’s tournament and they will definitely aim higher this year. But in the semis they’re going to face Vítkovice, who will be supported by a full arena.

In the Swedish top league (SSL) Storvreta currently occupies second place, seven points behind Falun (Falun 55, Storvreta 48), but only one point ahead of Pixbo.

This season, the Swedish national team player Alexander Rudd is the team’s points leader so far, collecting 38 points for 12 goals and 26 assists. Albin Sjögrenis second with 35 points (21+14), followed by Henrik Stenberg with 24 points (13+11).

Storvreta began December with two losses, followed by two wins. In their fifth match they lost against the league leaders from Falun. They, however, returned to the winning mood again in January before traveling to Ostrava, beating Jönköpings IK 11-1. Last five matches:

Jönköpings IK – Storvreta 1:11
IBF Falun – Storvreta 6:3
Storvreta – IK Sirius IBK 5:1
Storvreta – Mullsjö AIS 4:3
Storvreta – IBK Dalen 2:5

Before the Champions Cup, Storvreta will play one more match, facing Linköping on 6th January. In Ostrava, the Swedish team must be prepared not only for for their opponents, but also for the home fans, as they will face Vítkovice in the semifinals.
