It was a real battle for the finals between the Czech Republic and Sweden here in Brno. A balanced match was decided by Czech player Matěj Havlas in a shootout, Czechia won 5:4.

The semifinal in which the Czech Republic and Sweden took part was a real example of what a ticket to the world championship finals costs. There was a better start for Swedish players who got into a lead already in the first minute, but then many reverses appeared.

Firstly the home team scored four goals in a row and got into a lead 4:1 in the opening period of this match, but then also its opponent showed his strength. It was Sweden who needed just two minutes to score twice and tie the game up.

Nobody else scored a goal after that and so the shootout was needed. It was goalkeepers who reigned here as they passed both just one ball from five tries. Swedish Emil Ödman and a Czech Tomas Jurco were simply ghosts for all the shooters, but then a Czech player Matěj Havlas used his chance and scored.

Nothing was determined yet, as there was just one more turn for the Swedish floorball player Viktor Hammarstedt. He tried, but the Czech goalkeeper made a great save again and sent his team into the finals. A real hell in the Brno´s arena started then!
