The second-largest city in the Czech Republic and the historic capital of Moravia. This cosmopolitan metropolis with a rich history and a unique atmosphere is located 180 kilometres from Prague and 110 kilometres from Vienna and will impress with its architecture, culture and more.

The Baroque Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul, which protrudes above the city in the centre of Brno, is one of the go-to tourist spots.  Another city landmark is Špilberk Castle, which today includes a museum, whose exhibits include casemates and a museum of torture.

The architectural pride of Brno is Villa Tugendhat, the most remarkable jewel of modern architecture from the early 20th century, which belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage List. Among the sought-after landmarks is also the astronomical clock on Freedom Square, which always launches one glass ball at 11 am as a reference to the battle with the Swedes from 1645.

Lovers of gastronomy and shopping will also enjoy themselves in Brno. The Brno Vegetable Market offers regional products and farmers’ markets, and shopping spree can be driven away in shopping centres such as Olympia Brno or Galerie Vaňkovka.

For sports fans, Brno is famous mainly for organizing prestigious Grand Prix from the MotoGP series on the Masaryk Circuit, but floorball enthusiasts also have their experience with Brno. The Moravian city played the organizing role on the occasion of several international floorball events, most recently during the Euro Floorball Tour men’s national tournament in the autumn of 2018. The Moravian metropolis has its own experience with the world championships, women’s WFC was held there in 2013.

Now the world championships are returning to Brno after eight years, after eighteen years to the Czech Republic and for the first time, junior national teams will compete for the world champion title there. All matches will take place in the Vodova double arena. Both arenas are located within easy reach of the city centre and their facilities offer ideal conditions for international sports events. The capacity of the main arena is 2,900 seats, and the small arena can accommodate 900 spectators.

With its infrastructure, Brno is easily accessible both by car, by train or bus. There is also an airport in Brno, so transport from abroad is also possible by plane.
