The board of the Finnish Floorball Federation will ask for the one-year postponement for the World Floorball Championships 2020 due to the COVID‑19 pandemic. The chairman of the board, Risto Kauppinen, tells to YLE that the board made the decision unanimously.

The postponement of the WFC 2020 would be the best solution considering the gathering restrictions and safety aspects. The situation obviously is very difficult, Kauppinen underlines.

The board of the Finnish Floorball Federation will discuss the postponement first with the Ministry of Education and Culture. After this the application proceeds to the IFF for the final decision.

The Men’s World Floorball Championships are scheduled to 4.-12.12.2020 with 16 participating teams.
