Ahead of the game against Denmark and Italy, the Danes had two straight wins and were looking to add the third. Italy on the other hand was looking for their first win of the tournament. 

It was the Danes who opened the first period strongest. After 44 seconds Cecilia De Nardo scored the first of many goals. Denmark would add another seven goals to their lead, 2 of whom were from De Nardo making it three in the first period from her. 

In the second period, Denmark would add another four goals to their already 8 goal lead. Again, De nardo would score one more goal, which makes it her fourth in the game. Italy did not really have any say and what happened on the court. When the second period ended, Denmark had a 12-0 nothing lead, and the shots were 36 for Denmark and only one shot for Italy. 

– Before the next match, we need to work on our offensive, where we are not efficient enough, said Italy’s Camilla Olshov when the match was over.

The third period showed a continued strong Denmark. 12-0 eventually became 15-0 and even in the last period, De Nardo would score, the fifth in the match.

– We played much better today, more speed which also made my match easier said the captain of the Danish team, Cecilia De Nardo, after the match.
