Team Finlands first game in the WFC 2021 was against team Germany, and Finland got a perfect beginning to their WFC-journey when they won with 15-0. After the game Finlands My Kippilä summarized their opener.

– Our first game in the tournament. Good game and wood win, now we continue the tournament, said My Kippilä.

Team Finland opened the scoring against Team Germany after only three and a half minutes. 1-0 became 4-0 before the first periods end and Team Finland looked really strong against their opponents. In the second period Finland came out really aggressive and scored two quick goals with only 17 seconds apart. 4-0 became 10-0 after two periods and the final result was 15-0 to team Finland. 

Many different players were noted in the scoresheet for team Finland and after the game My Kippilä was very happy that all of Finlands lines produced points. 

– It was very important that every line scored goals and many players aswell. That is good for the next game. 

Even thought the result didn’t go Germanys way team captain Randi Kleerbaum was happy that the team once more got to play in international games. 

– I think it was very nice to have games at the World Championships again. For us in Germany we haven’t had that many games in the last two years because of Corona. It was very nice and it it’s always fun to play against teams which are among the best in the world. It was a very tough opponent and in the beginning it was a little bit difficult. But we had some good times and some bad times, but in general it was very nice to play against Finland, said Randi Kleerbaum. 

MVP for team Finland was Veera Kauppi. MVP for team Germany was Noora Holle.
