From the first faceoff, Estonia controlled the match. Throughout the match, the team had a frantic pressgame, a pressure that the Italians had a hard time getting out of and past.

Italy goalkeeper Martina Falchi played great in the first period, but not even Falchi could stop Estonia. Estonia took the lead when forward Diana Klavan scored 1-0 after just over 10 minutes. After the goal, Estonia continued to press Italy, and the team won the first period by a full 5-0.

– My teammates did all the work. It was just for me to put the ball in the net, says Diana Klavan about her two goals in the first period.

The second period was played like the first. Italy fought hard but it was Estonia who scored the goals. Edith Parnik started the scoring in the period when she made it 6-0. Estonia also scored the last goal of the period, which meant 9-0.

In the third period, Estonia continued to push back the opposition. The team’s MVP, forward Kati Kutisaar made it 10-0. only six seconds into the period. After that, Estonia scored six more goals, which gave the final result 16-0.

Italy’s MVP, defender Alina-Olivia Baioni is despite the loss satisfied with the team’s effort.

– We are better than this, but I think we were tired since yesterday’s match. But I think we made it good.

Estonia is on to the next round where the team plays for 13th place. There, the team meets the winner of the match Thailand – Singapore while Italy meets the loser in a match for 15th place.
