Ahead of the game against Denmark and Thailand each team had one victory. All to play for and a win today could secure a spot in the playoffs.

In the opening period, Denmark took command over the game right away. Scoring their first goal after 5 minutes, and 40 seconds later scoring the second making it 2-0. Thailand would however respond, making it 2-1, before Denmark scored 3-1 ending the period in a two-goal lead. 

– It was a good first ten minutes in the first period from our side, but after that, we took a lot of penalties making us very tired, said Nina Suppa of Thailand when the game had ended.

In the second period, Denmark showed excellence in its power-play game. Three out of three goals were scored in powerplay and all goals were assisted by Frida Mainz Olsson. When the whistle for the second period came around Denmark was up 6 to 1. 

In the last period the Danes had full control over the game, team Thailand never came near in the scoresheet. Instead, it was Denmark that would add to their lead three more times, making the score 9-1 when the final whistle was blown. 

– I think tomorrow’s game will be very tough, so we need to prepare a lot and well, said Frida Mainz Olsson after the game.
