The first game for Denmark and USA treated us to a fair few goals, 15 to be exact with Denmark winning the game with 6-9. 

– We have a good feeling in the team right now so the next games are going to be fun to play. We will take this winning feeling to the other games aswell, and go as far as we can in the tournament, said Frida Mainz Olsson after the final whistle. 

The first few minutes of the game were hesitant. It would take 10 minutes for the danes to get the first goal. Shortly after Klara Fjorder made it 0-2, but the Americans did not give up. 20 seconds later the reduced to score to 1-2 by Michelle Linhart. However, the score was not yet settled for the first period, the Danes would sneak one more by goaltender Kate Mcbean before the first period would end. 

The second period started as the first one, but this tame team USA got the first goal, scored by Suzanne Lindquist. However, the danes to the last word in this period aswell with 2 goals scored på Frida Mainz Olsson, 2-5 after two periods played. 

The third period would not start the way USA hoped for, an early goal by Mathilde Christensen gave the danes a 3 goal lead. But team USA would fight back, two quick goals and the lead were deficit were down to one. But Christensen were not done, two more goals later and the hattrick were a fact. Once again the lead were up to 3 but USA would score another two giving an end result 6-9.
