Slovakia were favorites ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Norway and the team won in the end. But the Norwegians really showed their best side in the match that ended 5-4 to the Slovakian team.

The audience barely had time to sit down before Norway’s forward Rikke Ingebrigtsli Hansen scored the tournament’s fastest goal, only 15 seconds into the match. Despite the tough start, Slovakia turned around and won the first period by two goals to one.

The second period ended 2-2 after a very early and a very late goal from Norway. For Slovakia, the goal scorers were Katarina Klapitova and Denisa Ferencikova. Ferencikova, who made her 100th match for the Slovak national team.

– It was a very tough game because we had a game yesterday in the evening quite late, so we hadn’t so much time to renegade well, so it was very tough, but we manage well and we won.

In the last period, Slovakia expanded its lead. Norway choosed to play 6 vs 5, but the Norwegians did not come closer than a goal from Rikke Ingebrigtsli Hansen today.

Saturday’s result means that Slovakia will face Poland in a battle for 5th place. Norway on the other hand will face Denmark in a match for 7th place.

– We will take with us the good things from this game of course. We did a lot of good things that I’m proud of. And forget this game and focus on the next, I think, says Norway’s Rikke Ingebrigtsli Hansen.
